Basic penicillin. Parenteral
Benzathin-penicillin
Basic penicillin. IM
Prophylaxis in rheumatoid fever
Prevention of syphilis transfer to the fetud in infected pregnant women
Penicillin V
Basic penicillin. Oral
Oxacillin
Anti-staphylococcal penicillin. Acid stable.
Resistant to beta-lactamases produced by Staph
Amoxicillin
Extended sprectrum penicillin. Aminopenicillin.
Combination with beta-lactamase inhibitor: clavulanic acid
Side effects: diarrhea, allergy
Ampicillin
Extended spectrum penicillin. Aminopenicillin.
Combination with beta-lactamase inhibitor: sulbactam
Side effects: diarrhea, rash, allergy
Piperacillin
Extended spectrum penicillin. Ureidopenicllin. Pseudomonas penicillin.
IV drug
Combined with beta-lactamase inhibitor: Tazobactam
