When a CO alarm is required such CO alarms shall be installed

A

Within 15 Feet of the primary entrance to any room used for sleeping purposes. Where the dwelling unit comprises only one room (as in hotels) the CO alarm shall be installed within such room

A

Must be marked UL-2034
Existing building under 1968 BC - plug in detector with battery backup
New or Substantially Altered Buildings - detector me must be hard wired
CO detectors are NOT required to be installed on or near the ceiling
CO detectors may be combined with smoke detecting devices
However, COMBINATION SMOKE AND CO DETECTORS MUST be on or near the ceiling
