A

CAB:

• Cognitive (belief, knowledge and thoughts)

• Affective (feelings or emotional responses)

How does attitude change?

A

Cognitive dissonance (when new information is given to the performer causing unease and motivating change) causes attitude change.

A

What is persuasive communication?

A

It is the theory that you can be talked into changing your attitude, but it is hard if core beliefs are stable.

• The message needs to be understood

• The new information needs to be of good quality

• The situation/timing must be good

• The new information should outweigh old beliefs
