ap review Flashcards
longitudinal vs cross sectional study
longitudinal - LONG, study one group for a LONG time
- generally weak in that people who drop out over the course of the study are different than those who stay, skewing results over long term
cross-sectional - C for COMPARE, compare groups
which part of a neuron (during rest) is positive, and which is negative, the inside or outside?
inside = negative,
outside = positive
outside = good, inside = bad, redditors have no neurons
signal detection theory vs. absolute threshold
absolute threshold = minimum to notice something, signal detection is the factors that might influence your absolute theshhold
shaping
using REWARDS to CREATE A DESIRED BEHAVIOR
executive function
ability to plan, self-control, and remember
generally the issue with adhd
behaviorism
study AND manipulation of observable, measurable behaviors
