immature smooth muscle (myo)
fat (lipoma)

who gets it?
A
80% sporadic - mainly middle-aged females 20% associated with tuberous Sclerosis - autosomal dominant - mental retardation, epilepsy etc. - 80% of TS patients develop AML

how does it present?
A
incidental finding - 50% loin pain haematuria mass Wunderlich's syndrome (10%) massive retroperitoneal bleed

how is it investigated?
A
USS - bright echo pattern
CT - fatty tumour of low density

how is it managed?
A
4cm cut off
elective: embolization/ partial nephrectomy
emergency: embolization, emergency nephrectomy
