Anaemia lifestyle advice

A

Eat foods rich in iron such as dark-leafy vegetables, fortified cereals and bread, red meat, beans, peas, and lentils.

Avoid drinking caffeine around meal time as can affect absorption.

If taking iron supplements, take them with orange juice (can improve absorption) and food

Take OTC iron supplements to prevent iron deficiency.

Iron side effects: contipation, diarrhoea, stomach ache, heartburn, nausea, darker faeces.
