respiratory distress
anaphylaxis in extremis (if wheezing persists after epi)
hyperkalemia
hyperkalemia secondary to rhabdomyolysis

2.5mg in 3ml NS via neb
5mg for severe distress
may repeat or administer continuously prn

tachycardia
hypertension
tremors,dizziness, headache
anxiety
albuterol (contraindications)
known hypersensitivity

monitor the ECG during administration - causes minimal heart stimulation
use with caution with hx of cardiac/hypertensive pt
o2 should be set to 6-8lpm minimum
can use aerosol mask
unstable at temperatures >77 degrees F
reevaluate pt including lung sounds and respiratory rate to determine efficacy
albuterol (pediatric note3)
refer to pediatric drug guide
respiratory distress with bronchospasm: for child weighing 20kg or greater in severe distress give 5mg
