Q

Gestational diabetes cause

A

Natural increase in hyperglycaemic hormones in pregnancy (cortisol, GH, human placental lactogen, progesterone, prolactin).

This is normally compensated by increased insulin release.

If hyperglycaemia is not compensated, can lead to diabetes.
