A
The largest type of pluton, covering an area of at least 100 km².

A
An igneous intrusion where magma has pushed into a fracture in Earth’s crust. If layers are present in the crust, a dike cuts across those layers.

A
An intrusive igneous rock body such as a batholith, dike, or sill.

A
A pluton that is similar to a dike, except that sills intrude parallel to layers of rock while dikes cut across layers.

An unmelted piece of crustal or mantle rock that becomes incorporated into magma.
