guided imagery
a technique used by some clinics (and police investigations) to help people recover details of events they they are unable to remember [guided instructions]
DRM procedure

a memory of a traumatic event that is suddenly recovered after blocking the memory of that event out for a long period of time … years often
recovered memory controversy
heated debate among psychologist about the validity of recovered memories
what are the 2 sides to recovered memory controversy?
side 1) mental health workers who regularly attempt to recover memories
side 2) opposing psychologists who point out how the techniques used to help “recover” a memory reassemble those that create false ones
