6: AOP Natural Resource Planning Flashcards
Greyfield development
Urban / suburban properties that have been previously developed. Have infrastructure in place. Consist of sites like “dead” shopping malls
Brownfield development
Brownfields are industrial and commercial properties with known or suspected soil contamination problems. The environmental and financial challenges of dealing with these sites represent serious barriers to potential urban revitalization.
Greenfield development
Greenfield land has remained untouched by previous development. Some definitions of greenfield land also include agricultural land. Thus, greenfield development encroaches on the natural environment to expand the built environment.
Net Zero
greenhouse gas strategy. Refers to having net zero carbon footprint.
