Define Assets
Physical entities often placed in locations to perform functions
or
Logical entities like software licenses
Characteristics of Assets
- Usually repairable
- Have serial numbers, or
- Are purpose-built and represent what is delivered when a purchase is made to fulfill a plant requirement
What is stored in the Assets application?
Asset numbers and corresponding information such as:
- Class
- Location
- Vendor
- Up/down status
- Maintenance costs
