18.3 Physics Flashcards
What’s a fuse and what does it do?
A fuse is a small metallic strip that melts if the current exceeds a certain value, in order to prevent excessive current on appliances in that circuit.
What is a circuit breaker?
A circuit breaker breaks the circuit by triggering a switch in the circuit in response to an excessively high current, and are reset rather than replaced.
