Obsessions
Persistent, Intrusive, and unwanted thoughts, impulses, or images that cause significant distress
Individual makes efforts to actively ignore or suppress
Compulsions
Repetitious and deliberate behaviors or mental acts
Response to obsession and/or according to rigid rules
Goal is to reduce distress or prevent a dreaded situation from happening
However, this goal is not logically connected to the compulsive behavior

Preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism and control

Treatment
ERP
Clomipramine or SSRI
Pharmacotherapy rarely used alone due to risk of relapse
Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Preoccupation with a defect or flaw in appearance
Flaw appears minor or is unobservable to others
Repetitive behaviors or mental acts related to perceived defect / flaw
Hoarding Disorder
Difficulty parting with possessions, regardless of their actual value
Perceived need to save items
Distress associated with parting with them
