- Narrow-angle glaucoma

- Emergency resuscitative equipment must be available
- flumazenil (Romazicon) should be available
- Dilute with normal saline of D5W prior to IV administration
- Respiratory depression more common with midazolam than with other benzodiazepine

- Drowsiness
- Hypotension
- Amnesia
- Respiratory depression and apnea

Adult dosage
A
Seizure: 2.5 mg IV/IO or 5mg IN/IM.
Cocaine overdose: 2.5mg IV/IO or 5mg IM.
Sedation for hemodynamically stable patients: 2.5 mg IV/IO
