To describe something 1. In general, indicates location, health, appearance 2.Idiomatic expressions (stare zitto, stare attente, etc.) 3. Give precise locations of objects or people 4. Continuous present tense / expressing action at a specific moment in the present (I'm eating pizza = Sto mangiando una pizza)
