A

**Essere **= to be or to exist / to feel something.
States a quality or state of something

  1. Give details about yourself or someone (Nationality, job, origin/where from).
  2. Give date and time
  3. Describe something or someone (birds are black, I am happy)
  4. Often used with “ci” ( There is = c’è, There are = ci sono)

Stare = to stay or to be. Implies voluntariness in action. To describe something

  1. In general, indicates location, health, appearance
    2.Idiomatic expressions (stare zitto, stare attente, etc.)
  2. Give precise locations of objects or people
  3. Continuous present tense / expressing action at a specific moment in the present (I’m eating pizza = Sto mangiando una pizza)
