What is the difference between Conoscere and Sapere?
Conoscere = to know / be familiar with person, place, or thing
Sapere = to know / express facts and information

conoscere = to know / be familiar with a person, place or thing

Buono = good = “buon” w/ masculine singular nouns
I know these buildings very well
(io) Conosco molto bene questi palazzi
Bene = well = adveb always used w/verb
Questo = this = “questi” with masculine, plural nouns
Do you “all” know Laura?

Ettore knows a good restaurant on Garibaldi Street
Ettore conosce un buon ristorante in Via Garibaldi

“Per” = used w/ on the way to or through something
To know something inside and out
ex: I know that game inside and out
Conoscere… a fondo
ex: (io) Conosco a fondo quel gioco (joe-koh)
This= quello = quel when nouns is masc, sing with no special letter at beginning or vowel

Sapere = to know facts or information

What usually follows the verb sapere?
An interrogative
(question words like who, what, where, why, how)

“so” (sapere) b/c you have specific information about it (the address). It’s more than just being familiar.
“di” Ettore = express ownership
How do you express that you know how to do something?
Use verb “sapere” (conjugated) + infinitive (basic form of verb)
*nothing is needed between two verbs
My brother knows how to cook very well
Mio fratello sa cucinare molto bene
