Where do first pair of cervical nerves emerge?
between occipital bone and atlas (C1)
Where do C1-C7 spinal nerves exit?
Above their corresponding vertebrae
Where does C8 spinal nerve exit?
Between C7 and T1
Where does T1-L5 spinal nerves exit?
Below their corresponding vertebrae
Where do S1-S4 exit?
4 pairs of sacral foramina
Where do S5 and Co1 exit?
Via sacral hiatus
What makes the brachial plexus?
Anterior rami C5-T1
What does brachial plexus supply?
Upper limbs
What dermatome is middle finger?
C7 (C6 is thumb and lateral arm, C8 is little finger)
Where does rearrangement of spinal nerves occur?
Plexuses
Musculocutaneous nerve roots
C5, C6 (C7)
C5 has no cutaneous distribution within territory, C7 has very little contribution)
What does C5 do in musculocutaneous nerve?
Supplies muscles supplied by musculocutaneous nerve that ALSO move the shoulder

Shoulder abduction and external rotation
C6 myotome function
elbow flexion
wrist extension
supination
C7 myotome function
elbow extension
wrist flexion
