What is the PHIBCB Mission Statement?
To provide logistics-over-the-shore support to COMPACFLT amphibious forces and MPF operations including ship-to-shore transportation of combat cargo, bulk fuel/water, and tactical camp operations.
What is the function of FC?
The floating causeway is a floating pier that enables landing craft to discharge vehicles and equipment when the gradient is too shallow to allow them to land directly on the beach.
Where is the FC located?
The FC is a homeport ACB-1 asset.
What are the sources of power for the FC?
The FC requires the following:
- 3 WT and 2 PM for stabbing the beach
- 1 WT and 2 PM for tending
What are the modes of operation and control of the FC?
Control of the FC is done by PM or WT. The OIC has overall control of the 22-man crew.
What is the effect on mission operations if the FC fails?
Reduced ability to get equipment and vehicles ashore.
What size crew is required to accomplish the function and what is the crew composition of the FC?
Crew of 22 (x2) for 24hr OPS
