Construction Projects Flashcards
Define a Manday
A MD is a unit of work performed by one person in eight hours. It is a set standard and does not change.
What is project scope sheet?
A project scope sheet includes general site information, preconstruction description, and photos for the environmental protection plan.
What is direct labor?
All labor expended directly on an assigned construction task, either in the field or in the shop, which contributes directly to the project.
What is indirect labor?
All labor required to support construction but does not usually produce an end product itself.
What is the Availability Factor?
Amount of time the worker is actually on the job (percentage)
What is a Level I Gantt Chart?
Used as a primary tool to manage overall unit tasking. Shows weeks vs individual projects and reflects total MDs planned or expended.
What is a Level II Gantt Chart?
Used as an individual project plan as well as to control and evaluate progress. Shows weeks vs master activities. Reflects allocated manpower resources.
What is a Level III Gantt Chart?
Used to plan, schedule, and monitor/control the day-to-day operations of the project. Shows days vs construction activities for the project.
What is WIP?
Work in Place: The completed quantity of work divided by the total quantity of work yet to be performed (percentage)
What is the importance of generating and maintaining a CAS Sheet?
Construction Activity Summary Sheet:
- Resource management support as determined in the detailed planning phase in the project schedule
- Official documentation of actual project execution as part of the project package
What is a Field Adjustment Request?
FAR is a formal procedure to record, track, and monitor requests by the engineering unit for an alteration to the original project plans or specifications because of changed conditions.
What is Design Change Directive?
