Describe the difference between violence and aggression
Violence has a goal of hurting a person or group.
Aggression can be used to protect oneself or others
Define bullying
Offensive, intimidating, malicious, condescending behavior designed to humiliate or terrorize.
Describe the difference between abuse and neglect
Abuse is willful maltreatment of a vulnerable person.
Neglect is consistent lack of providing basic needs for a vulnerable person
Describe the psychodynamic theory
Aggression and violence supply the individual with a dose of power and prestige that boosts the self image
Describe the Intergenerational theory (Same as social learning theory)
Children learn to behave by intimidating their caregivers
