A
Corticosteroids to reduce inflammation
Removal of large intestine and rectum

What will the client need after surgery ?
A
Ileostomy

What is the most appropriate diet for this condition?
A
Low fiber
Teach clients to avoid fiber
Fatty/ greasy foods to decrease diarrhea.
Teach clients to avoid alcohol (ETOH) and caffeine but increase fluid intake
