What are the 6 signs of NMS?
A
Extreme fever
Tachycardia
Altered LOC
Seizures
muscle rigidity
Elevated lab values ( WBC/LFT)

What is the treatment?
A
Discontinue the medication initially safety and seizures precautions.
Give antipyretic to reduce fever

When does this syndrome occur?
A
It could occur anytime a client is on antipsychotic medication, most commonly when treating begins or doses are increased
