A

we can’t use the data for testing on cells and tissues to think that it will have the same effect on body systems.

why is it tested on actual humans

A

first the drug is tested on healthy volunteers. this is to make sure it does not have any harmful side effects and to find out the best dosage and its toxicity.

A

patients are randomly put in 2 groups. one is given the new drug and the other a placebo (a substance that is like the drug but does nothing).
