what is the structure of chromosomes?
A
body cells have 2 copies of each chromosome, one from the mother and one from the father. humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes

what are chromosomes?
A
chromosomes are long lengths of a molecule called DNA. The DNA is coiled up into the arms of the chromosome.

what are genes?
A
each chromosome carries a large number of genes. These are short sections of DNA. Genes control our characteristics.
