what is cancer caused by
caused by uncontrolled cell growth and division. this results in a tumour. (growth of abnormal cells).
2 types of tumours
malignant or benign
what are benign tumours
where the tumour grows until there’s no more room. Tumour stays in one place rather than invading other tissues. this tumour is not cancerous.w
what are malignant tumours
these are where the tumour can spread to other neighbouring and healthy tissues. cells can break off and spread to other parts of the body by travelling in the bloodstream. these are cancerous tumours.
What are the risk factors for cancer
anyone can develop cancer, smoking, obesity, UV exposure, Viral infection can all cause a type of cancer.
