what are risk factors
things that are linked to increase the likely hood that a person will develop a certain disease during their lifetime.
risk factors that cause disease
smoking obesity drinking too much alcohol smoking when pregnant cancer
what are correlations
correlation does not always equal cause. time risk factors aren’t capable of directly causing the disease, but are related to another risk factor that is.
human cost of non-communicable disease
loads of people die due to non-communicable diseases. people may have a lower quality of life, this does not only effect the patient but also their families and friends.
what is the financial cost of non-communicable diseases
the cost to the NHS researching and treating diseases is huge. families may have to adapt to help a family member with a disease which could be expensive.
