Tools 20 Air-BAGS Flashcards
Units should paint what on the front airbags
Lift capacity and lift height in addition to label
Air bags rated tonnage is based on tixs capacity to the lift the tonnage
One inch
If kefir bag 10 inch them tonnage is reduced in half
30 ton bag will lift 30 tons one inch and 15 tons 10 inches
Air supply hoses for air bags
2 red air supply hoses 16 feet
1. Yellow hose 16 feet
What type cylinder do you uss with air bag
Steel cylinders
How to set the pressure regulator
- Close regulator air supply. By turning the small knurled black knob clockwise
- Connect regulator to high pressure air source
- Open air slowly and watch gauge.. The high pressure gauge should reflect the air source pressure
Set the low pressure GAUGE IS SET TO 135 psi by turning pressure regulator knob clockwise
When the high pressure gauge falls below ______ psi change the air cylinder
200 psi
When connecting the air supply hose to the air bag you should connect it to the bag first or the outlet on the dual CVSR
The hose to the bag first then the CVSR
BOTH SAFETY RELIEF VAVLES MUST WHEN CONNECTING AIR SUPPY HOSE CVSR
When inserting hose into locking mechanism located on female connections on CVSR
Insert male into female
Rotate the serrated knob at the base of the female connection (clockwise) until snug
Give both hoses a tug to make sure the y are joined securely
When placing bag under the load you air nipple should be
Pointed out
Place bag as close to load as possible
Always have bag connected prior to placing it under or between a load to minimize the operators exposure to load area
Maximum internal air pressure for bag when used for lifting purposes
118 psi
Excess PSI OVER 118 will be expelled from opening at the base of the control valve safety relief
At this point close the control lever conserve the air supply
Dual combo control valve safety relief(CVSR )
- Control valves are 1/4 turn ball valves and work independently
- Check both valves make sure in closed position( perpendicular to air supply)
One red hose to from pressure regulator to CSRV ONE FROM CSRV to outlets - Return to regulator and fully open the knurled knob air outlet valve counterclockwise ( this will bring air up to CSRV
- Select bag size and connect air supply hose to nipple on bag
5 then attach air supply hose to outlet connection on dual CVSR .. Both safety valves must be closed
6 .place male into female then rotate the serrated knob at base of female connection until snug give both hoses tug - Place bag under load with nipple pointed out
True or false you should always bag connected to hose prior to placing under or between load
True always
The speed of inflating bag is controlled by
How fast move the control lever towards parallel with hose
Inflate bags slowly
The control valve safety relief valve gauge is
Reads internal pressure of the connected bag
118 psi max internal pressure
What should you do if you reach the max internal pressure of bag
Close the control lever to conserve the air supply
