Q

Air bags rated tonnage is based on tixs capacity to the lift the tonnage

A

One inch

If kefir bag 10 inch them tonnage is reduced in half

30 ton bag will lift 30 tons one inch and 15 tons 10 inches

Q

How to set the pressure regulator

A
  1. Close regulator air supply. By turning the small knurled black knob clockwise
  2. Connect regulator to high pressure air source
  3. Open air slowly and watch gauge.. The high pressure gauge should reflect the air source pressure
Set the low pressure GAUGE IS SET TO 135 psi by turning pressure regulator knob clockwise

Q

When connecting the air supply hose to the air bag you should connect it to the bag first or the outlet on the dual CVSR

A

The hose to the bag first then the CVSR

BOTH SAFETY RELIEF VAVLES MUST WHEN CONNECTING AIR SUPPY HOSE CVSR

Q

When inserting hose into locking mechanism located on female connections on CVSR

A

Insert male into female
Rotate the serrated knob at the base of the female connection (clockwise) until snug

Q

When placing bag under the load you air nipple should be

A

Pointed out

Place bag as close to load as possible

Always have bag connected prior to placing it under or between a load to minimize the operators exposure to load area

9
Q

Maximum internal air pressure for bag when used for lifting purposes

A

118 psi
Excess PSI OVER 118 will be expelled from opening at the base of the control valve safety relief

At this point close the control lever conserve the air supply

Q

Dual combo control valve safety relief(CVSR )

A
  1. Control valves are 1/4 turn ball valves and work independently
  2. Check both valves make sure in closed position( perpendicular to air supply)
One red hose to from pressure regulator to CSRV ONE FROM CSRV to outlets
  3. Return to regulator and fully open the knurled knob air outlet valve counterclockwise ( this will bring air up to CSRV
  4. Select bag size and connect air supply hose to nipple on bag
5 then attach air supply hose to outlet connection on dual CVSR .. Both safety valves must be closed
6 .place male into female then rotate the serrated knob at base of female connection until snug give both hoses tug
  5. Place bag under load with nipple pointed out

15
Q

When should you shore and stabilize a load when using air-bags

A

Before placing bags into position and as load is being lifted

16
Q

How do you deflate bags with control valve safety relief

A
  1. Close the control levers

2. Slowly turn the knurled knob on the top of safety relief counterclockwise

17
Q

What is recommend when blocking up a bag

A

3/4 inch plywood 3 layers thick glued, nailed or screwed together

18
Q

Bags should only be inflated to

A

Half or 3/4 of rated capacity

19
Q

During inflation you should stand

A

To one side and clear all personnel from front of opening where bag has been placed

Never work under load unless it’s block or shored

Bags don’t need smooth surface but blocks and shoring do

20
Q

Avoid inflating bags on surfaces heated over

A

220 f

21
Q

Can you stack to bags on top of each other

A
Yes
Never more than 2
Always place smaller on top of larger
Generally inflate bottom . Bag first
Tonnage of smaller bag is max that can be lifted ( can't combine weight of both )
22
Q

When using the leak sealing kit whst color hose should you use

A

Orange hose

23
Q

Orange hose for leak sealing kit has a built in safety relief valve of

A

22 psi

Only use this hose got leak sealing

24
Q

Inspect bags

A

Before and after use

Never drag the lifting bag by the control hose

25
Q

Average life span of maxi force airbags

A

10 years

Life expectancy is based on air pollutants not usage
