Max range of the PAK tracker is
900 feet line of sight
Range is dependent on environmental conditions and anything that would cause interference or reflection of the personnel transmitter signal
The PAK tracker is used to locate a signal from
SCBA whose PASS alarm is in full alarm mode for 10 seconds
Note PAK tracker will emit 2-tone audible alarm when transmitted signal is received and display the id ( unit and member assignment ) of SCBA
Is the PAK tracker intrinsically safe
No it is not suitable for use in potentially flammable or explosive atmospheres
Always check first
To turn on the PAK tracker
Press and hold both the ENTER (right) and SCROLL (left) buttons at same time
The PAK tracker can store up to how many SCBA identities

The receivers LCD screen is large enough to display
Two lines of information
If two SCBAs pass alarms activate they will bOth show on the screen if a third SCBA activates
Then it will show at the top of screen and the first SCBA will move off
The latest activation will be on top
Use scroll button on left to view all SCBA
Note a downward pointing arrow indicates more than two pass alarms activated
The PAK tracker can lock on to how many SCBA pass signals at once

There is a 10 second time lag built into system
The strength of the PAK tracker signal will vary depending on
- Distance from SCBA
- Path the SCBA signal has taken to get to PAK tracker
3 materials between the SCBA, and the PAK tracker which may affect the signal from the SCBA - Orientation of the hand held receiver
Procedure to track an SCBA
If a SCBA pass is activated it will appear on PAK tracker if you wanna track press and hold enter button once
If more than two SCBAs activated press and hold scroll button (left) for 3 seconds and continue to hold until activated pass you want to track is on top of screen , release. Scroll and press enter once to select that SCBA
When you begin searching the PAK tracker should be held
Horizontally At waist level out in front of operator
Top of hand held receiver should be printed toward target
Should be held horizontally first and the. Vertically if signal is suspected may be coming from higher or lower floor
When will the led lights be in to illuminate on the PAK tracker
When signal rises above 50%
You should pause how long for a reading
Always pause 3-4 seconds for reading
The signal from the SCBA or the PAK tracker will usually pass through
Openings such as gaps holes stairways windows elevator shafts
Glass
Wood
Light building materials
The signal will reflect and or not penetrate through
Metal including structural framework
Large metal objects
Concrete walls or floors
Brick or concrete block construction
Note signal will attempt to pass around these objects
