May not work if aerial losses hydraulic fluid ..however still make attempt. Reason for failure must be addressed before the emergency system can function

Steps for emergency aerial ladder operations

A
  1. With engine off place ignition ON and place transmission in neutral and apply all brakes
  2. On aerial control panel place PTO switch to ON and move the normal/emergency switch to auxiliary position? (Red indicator light will illuminate )
  3. At pedestal depress aerial enable for switch
  4. Activate the emergency pump switch ( this is a momentary switch ,which means it must hold switch in ON POSITION) and at same time activate the function that u want to perform
  5. Once ladder has completed that function release both control lever and emergency pump switch and allow for cool down period before attempting another function

Points about lowering stabilizers on Un level ground

A
  1. Start with stabilizer on low side first (regardless if inboard or outboard side)…low side is direction that apparatus leaning
  2. Low side stabilizer shall be fully extended horizontally and lowered to max
  3. High side is extended as necessary and lowered to point that levels apparatus( utilize inclinometer at rear of apparatus )
  4. If inboard side is high side it must be fully extended horizontally and lowered the distance necessary
