Q

What was the result of the ‘Amicable Grant’

A

The failed attempt to raise a tax for Henry’s French wars led to a rebellion in East Anglia and widespread non-payment due to the fact that it followed forced loans in 1522 and 1523, which had not been repaid, and the subsidy of 1523, which was still being collected.
