However rights of other kids (Mary and Liz) maintained via 3rd Succession Act of 1543.
I’m Henry’s will line of succession= Ed, Mary, Liz then came the collateral heirs to the throne (descendants of Henry’s 2 sisters, Mary and Margaret of Scotland)
Mary’s were to come first (all women: Frances, Duchess of Suffolk, and her daughters the 3 Grey Sisters)
Next was descendants of Marg of Scot ( Her grandchildren: Mary Queen of Scots and Henry, Lord Darnley (only male other than Ed in succession))
When did Henry Viii die and what happened upon his death
28 Jan 1547 but was kept secret for 3 days whilst his councillors ( Edward Seymour, earl of Hertford and duke of Somerset and William Paget)were negotiating. They persuaded the council that Henry’s real wish wasn’t to form a council of equals (a collective gov) but rather to make Edward Seymour (his brother-in-law and Ed VI’s uncle) Protector. Making him virtual regent of the realm, taking the title of duke of Somerset. Other councillors were bought off with land and titles
