Q

Describe the traditional view of historians on Northmerland’s protectorate and his motives and how does this compare to the Revisionist view

A

Viewed his actions at the end of Edward’s reign (the altering of the line of Succession) as a cynical move made by Northumberland in order to protect his own interests. Often claimed Dudley had engineered the device for the Succession to ensure that his own agenda was met. However, revisionists now believe that Edward was behind the altering of the Succession as a means of protecting his Protestant reformation.
