Carry urine from kidney to bladder
How long are the ureters?
25-30 cm
retroperitoneal and receive blood supply from various vessels along their route
Outline how the ureters enter the bladder
Enter bladder via ureteric meatus forming the corners of the trigone - apex points towards pubic symphysis
What is the significance of the rugae membrane of the bladder?
Signals full bladder
2 ureters enter

How is urinary continence maintained?
Via internal and external sphincters
- contracted bladder = relaxed sphincters
