Left upper quadrant in abdominal cavity
Behind 9, 10 and 11th Costal ribs

A
Blood filter
- removes old RBCs
- Plays a role in both cell-mediated + humoral immune
responses

Describe the peritoneal attachment of the spleen
A
Gastro-splenic ligament extends to greater curve of stomach and is a continuation of the greater omentum

A
At T12 , coeliac trunk branches into spelnic arteries

A
Enlarged spleen - splenomegaly
