Texture segregation Flashcards
Segregation
It’s the brain’s way of organizing visual information by separating objects based on their different features like color, shape, orientation or size
No segregation
If features differ, but are not put in any order or such, segregation won’t arise. That means segregation doesn’t rely on just different features, but it makes features important depending on their relation to the surrounding shapes.
Group statistics
Matters in whether segregation takes place;
- equal vertical and horzontal energy = no segregation
- Different virtical and horizontal nergy = segregation
