Invarience Flashcards
Repetition priming
Experiment used to understand object recognition. If same stimuli is presented twice, the response is weaker the second time.
Tested using different;
- Retinal image
- Viewpoint
- Object identity
- Object Class
Lateral Occiital, fusiform and frontal gyri
Only show repetition priming for physcially identical objects (same retinal image) AKA no invariance
Right anterior and posterior fusiform gyri
Show RP for identical objects of different size, but not diff viewpoints. So size invariant coding, not viewpoint invarient
Left anterior and posterior fusiform gyri
Show RP for identical objects at different viewpoints so viewpoint invarient
Left inferior forntal gyri (broca)
Shows RP for object within a class so exemplar invariant coding ( NOT IN VISUAL AREA )
