Yanzi said, “This means he would die without knowing his crimes.”
“I beg permission to enumerate his crimes on Your Lordship’s behalf.”
“This will cause him to know his crimes when Your Lordship killed him.”
The Duke said, “Sure.”
Yanzi picked up a dagger-pike and approached the man, saying,
“You raised a horse for our ruler and then killed it; that crime merits death”
“You are causing our ruler to kill a groom for the sake of a horse; and that crime also merits death.”
The Lord said, “Sir, release him. Sir, release him.”
“Do not do harm to my benevolence.”
