Q

What is the cutaneous innervation to the floor of the axilla? What additional area is also supplied by this nerve?

A

The lateral branch of the 2nd intercostal nerve. Also supplies a variable amount of the inner part of the arm.

Q

What is the cutaneous innervation to the arm?

A

The lateral surface of the arm is supplied by the upper (axillary) and lower (radial) lateral cutaneous nerves.
The posterior area over the triceps skin is supplied by the posterior cutaneous nerve of the arm (radial).

Q

How does sympathetic innervation reach the upper limb?

A

The grey ramus communicants joins each root. these remain in the nerves till very near their destination of supply They remain with the same segment from where they join.

Q

What do the sympathetic nerves in the upper limb supply?

A

In the skin they supply arterioles, sweat glands, and erector pili. Deep they supply local areas of artery is.
