Statistics - selecting statistical tests Flashcards
The main tests when looking at nominal data is
Chi square and multiple chi square
What’s the difference between chi square and multiple chi square
chi square = one independent variable
multiple chi square = more than one independent variable
when can you not use a chi square
in scenarios where you measure before and after or if groups are correlated
What’s a key variable of chi square?
Independent observations
When do you use MANOVA?
when there’s more than one dependent variable
a Test test is
1 IV and only two groups max
When do you use a 1 way anova?
when there’s 1 independent variable and more than 2 groups
When do you use a 2 way anova?
When there’s 2 independent variables and the data’s independent for both groups
What’s a split plot ANOVA?
2 IVs and datas independent in one group and correlated in the other group
When there’s a covariate what do you use?
an ANCOVA (analysis of covariance)
