A

An occurrence is an incident that results in a fire department emergency response.
There are three catagories of occurrences.
1. fires & Explosions
2. No Loss Outdoor fire
3. Other emergency responses

A

a rescue is defined as:
* any perosn in danger due to their proximity to the occurreence (fire and non fire incidents)

and

  • who is unable to self evacuate

and

  • is assisted to safety by fire department personnel

A

Secton B is completed in addition to Section A for structrual and vehicle fires/explosions and outdoor fires/explosions where there is loss, and exposure fire or a possible cause of arson vancalism or chidren playing.

What does estimated dollar loss include

A

The estimated dollar loss is the cost of actual damage to property and property contents, including open area losses

NOT TO BE INCLUDED in this total are revenue losses or cost involved due to business interution, loss of good will, loss of sale, production down time, vacancies or environmental contamination cleanup

How is a civilian injurie/fatalaitie definced

A

A civilian fire injury/death is defined a person injured/killed
* as a direct result of a fire/explosion, (burns, asphyxia)
* as a result of a fire/explosion imairment (pulmonary edema, pneumonia)
* as a resuold of an injury that was caused by excaping the fire.explosion,(jumps for third floor, falls down stairwell)
* as a resuld of destruction caused by the fire/explosion (wall fals, roof collapse, projectiles hurled)

This definition includes a perosn who is know to have comminted or attempted to commit suicide by fire or explosion, and a person who is killed or injured as a result of an arson fire, whether the fire was intended to kill or injure the specific person or not
