- Instructor -under the direction fothe the instructor in charge is a qualified person vapable of delivering and evaluation training (Shifyt Instructor, Captain , asst. div. chief, Coordinator, District CHief, platoon Chief or Division chief)
- Instructor in Charge - qualified person bapable of deelivering and evaluating taining (shift instructor, captain, asst. div. chief, coordinator, district chief, platoon chief or division chief)

Authoridty Having Jusidiction (AHJ)
An organization (BFES) office, or individual responsible of r enforcing the requirement of a code or standard, or for approving equipment, material, an installation, or a procedures.

An idividual who is not a trainee and shall be designated to control the materials being burned

and individual qualified as an instructor and designated by the AHJ to be in charge of the live fire training evolution and who has met the requirements of an insturctor II in accordance with NFPA 1041 and has recieved instruction on NFPA 1403

An individual appointed by the AHJ as qualified to maintain a safe working environment at all live fire training evolutions. Live-FIre safety officers should have recieved instruction on NFPA 1403 and be familiar with the standard

an indiidual qualified by the AHJ to deliver fireifghter training, who has the training and experience to supervise students during live fire training evolutions and who has met the requirements of and instructor I in accordance with NFPA 1041. Live fire instructors/supervisors shall have recieved instruction on NFPA 1403 and be familiar with the standard

FIre control team
consist of a minimum of two personnel, the icnition officer and one additional personnel to assist

The Live fire instructor in chage shall
- visually inspect the live fire training bulding fo rany possible damage
- not any dificiencies or damage, document and forward to the division chief of training
- Ensure a live fire training plan is submitted to the division of training for each session of live fire training
- conduct a pre-burn briefing session for all participant
- ensure all particapnts conduct a walk-through of the structore
- be a qualified life-fire instructor
- determine the number of training attack lines and backup lines taht are necessary
- Assign the following personnel:
* live fire safety officer(s)
* one instructor/supervisor for each functional crew entering the structrure, which shall not exceed five students
* one instructro/supervisor to the backup line along with a RIT
* entry control/accountability person
* ignition officer - determine when to ignite the training fire in coordination with the live fire safety officer and ensureing notification of the ignition officer
- provide for rest and rehabilitation of participants
4-02 Live Fire Training
The live fire safety officer shall:
- have the authority to interveve and control any aspent of the operations when in their judgmen, a potential or actual danger, accident, or unsafe condition exists
- do their utmost to prevent unsafe acto and eleminate unsafe conditions
- Ensureing that PPE is appropriately donned and used
- Provied for the safety of all persons on scene including participants, instructor, visitors, and spectators
- assist the ignition officer
- not be assigned other duites
4-02 Live Fire Training
Instructor/Supervisor Shall:
- monitor and supervise all assigned students during the live fire training evolution
- be a qualified live fire istructor and;
* trained in NFPA 1403 standard on live fire training
* certified to NFPA 1041 fire service instructor I - be rotated through duty assignemnts.An instrcutor shall not serve as the ignition officer for more than one evolution in a row

The fire Control team shall:
- not be participants in the training ecercise
- consist of one ignitin officer and at least one other perosnnel to assist
- control materials being burned
- ensure a charged hose line accompanies them when they are igniting any fire
- be assisted by an additional perosnnel who will be in the area to observe the ignitin officer ignite and maintain the fire, and to recognize, reprot ad pespond to any adverse conditions

How much water shall each hose line be capable of delivering?
Each hose line shall be capable of delevering an minimum of 360 L/min
4-03 Equipment Purchases
What is the process for requestin nw operations equipment?
STLs/STIs/personnel interested in procuring new operations equipment, including PPE, shall appraoch the training division lead for live fire and provide a qritten proposal outlining the demonstrated need for such equipment and their recommendations

What is the process for procuring special operations equipment?
STLs/STIs/personnel interested in procuring new special operaions (technical rescue, hasardous material) equipment, including PPE, shall approach the special operations (spec Ops) platoon chief and provide a written proposal outlining the demonstrated need for such equipment and their recommendations. The training diision lead for the descipline in question shall also be notified

When cosidering equpment severla factor may be reviewed; giben age of current equipment, space on the apparatus, safety and operational efficiency
