What is pharyngeal flap surgery?
surgical procedure used to address velopharyngeal insufficiency; a flap from the posterior pharyngeal wall is attached to the soft palate to create a bridge that closes the gap between the hard palate and soft palate. Holes are left between the flap so that the child can breathe
What is the Veau-Ward Kliner method?
a surgical procedure to repair cleft lip by bringing together flaps on either side of the cleft closer together

rare childhood neurological disorder wherein formerly healthy, typically developing 3 to 7 y/o children lose their ability to comprehend language and then to speak it. They may develop behaviors such as depression, hyperactivity, and aggressiveness
