If a professional has international affiliation, then what does that imply?
The person holds a graduate degree or beyond, but does not live in the United States. They are not allowed to provide clinical services

It states that disabled children and children with special needs are eligible to free and appropriate education in the LRE according to IDEA. Parents’ rights are protected as well
What does Public Law 99-457 state?
It stated that infants who were suspected to have speech and/or language disorders or who have disabilities would receive early intervention services
What is Principles of Ethics I?
Clinicians should prioritize the welfare of their clients, which includes providing evidence-based treatments, making appropriate referrals, being prepared to provide appropriate treatments.
What is Principles of Ethics II?
Clinicians should maintain the highest level of professional competence by continuing their education, working within their scope of practice, and not letting people complete activities that they are not licensed for.

Clinicians should not misrepresent their credentials and provide accurate information about the profession

Clinicians should remain professional and assume supervisory responsibilities and give credit where it is due.
What are key provisions of HIPAA?
Covered entities may be in trouble if they misuse a patient’s health information; patients can view their health information and ask for corrections; healthcare providers tell patients how other healthcare entities can use the patient’s health information; there are limits to how covered entities can use HIPAA; patients can ask covered entities to take steps to ensure that their health information is covered.
What is the difference between Public Law 94-142 and Public Law 99-457?
Public Law 94-142 refers to the IDEA, whereas public law 99-457 refers to EI services
Describe the development of IDEA from its inception.
Began in 1990 as PL 101-476. It replaced the word handicap with disability and increased the number of categories of disabilities
1997 - allowed parents to get more involved, improved educational results and increased participation of special educators. It also prevented inappropriate misidentification and labeling
2004: known as PL 108-446: greatly emphasized using pre-referral services to prevent unnecessary referrals to special education and providing early intervention programs for children
What does the American with Disabilities state?
PL 101-336: provides civil rights protection related to employment and allows for accommodations for people with disabilities. Prevents discrimination based on disabilties and requires employers to support workers with disabilities
