A

Adaptation is when the body reacts to a hard training session by increasing its ability to cope with future punishing training sessions.

A

You can tell adaptation is occurring when you rest, this way your body has time to repair body tissues and get you working even harder than before.

A

Overtraining happens when you train beyond your body’s ability to recover.

Why do we need progressive overload?

A

We need to to improve a specific area of a sport, doing this means adding on each time. This comes with dangers, such as overtraining during progressive overload.

What is interval training?

A

Physical training involving alternating stages of high and low-intensity activity.

A

Continuous training is steady training. Your heart rate will not be very high but will be in the target zone for aerobic fitness. (A session is usually 15mins).
