Soc5 - Principles Of Training Flashcards
Name 4 principles of training?
Specificity
Progressive Overload
Individual Needs
FITT(Frequency, intensity, time, type)
Define specificty.
Mathching the trainings to the requirements of the activity.
Give an example of specificty.
Every sport has its own specialist needs, swimmers and footballer are very different.
Define Progressive Overload.
It is progressively increasing your training program without getting injured.
Give an example of progressive overload.
If you can do 5 sit ups try 10 next week.
What is individual needs?
Individual needs is assessing your needs to create yourself a training programme.
Give an example of individual needs.
Making your own training program, not following someone else’s or you will be doing their individual needs.
What does “FITT” stand for?
Frequency
Intensity
Time
Type
What is Frequency?
How often you the training.
What is intensity?
How hard you train
What is time? (In PoP)
How long you train for.
What is type?
The method of your training.
What is the FITT principle?
The FITT principle works with the principle of progressive overload because as you get fitter you can more often.
What is Plyometric training?
