Interval training
alternating stages of high and low intensity activity.
Continuous training
Training for long periods of time (more than 15 min)at your aerobic target zone without rest.
Fartlek
“Speed play” in Swedish is training that involves continuously variating intensity like slow and fast. It is not prescribed meaning the person must be self-motivated.
Circuit training
Training involving stations that change muscle group to non train the same for long periods eg changing from cardiovascular heart activity to muscular endurance arm activity.
Weight/resistance training
Training to increase muscular strength, endurance and bulk. This can be done by continuously increasing reps, weight or frequency when using weight training.
Plyometrics
Training involving short intervals with high intensity to increase your explosiveness and effectively your power.
