Specificity
Matching training to the requirements of an activity e.g a cm in football will need high amounts of cardiovascular fitness
Target zone
The area between the minimum and maximum threshold of training is called the target zone
Progressive overload
Gradually increasing the amount of overload so as to gain fitness without the risk of injury e.g lifting smaller amounts of weight and gradually lifting more weight
How would you progressively overload
For strength, overload training may mean lifting a weight at 60%-80% per cent of maximum effort e.g max = 120kg
60%-80% = 72kg - 96kg
