Acne caused by blocked pores of hair follicles/sebaceous glands which trap oil and dead skin cells beneath

Overproduction of sebum, irregular shedding of dead, skin cells, buildup of bacteria

-OTC lotions containing benzo, peroxide, sulfur, and salicylic acid
-OTC retinoids, exfoliate skin, causing skin cells to turn over at a faster rate, decrease, or production, and our anti-inflammatory
-isotretinoin(accutane): oral vitamin A, shuts down sebaceous glands

How to salicylic acid get rid of acne
Unclogged pores and works by dissolving excess oil and exfoliating dead skin cells. Does not kill bacteria or have any effect on sebum production
