16
Q

Describe White line disease

A
  • Sporadic occurence
  • Often in misshapen feet
  • May get bacterial entry and result in an abscess
  • May track up and discharge at the coronary band
17
Q

TX for white line dx?

A

Careful foot paring to remove underrun horn and release pus

18
Q

Why do we get toe granulomas?

A
  • Over trimming
  • Chronic irritation
  • Untreated lameness

noncontagious so high prevalence suggests an underlying cause

19
Q

CLS of toe grnauloma?

A

painful red swelling at point of toe

20
Q

Tx for Toe granuloma?

A
  • Removal an option
  • Culling most common
21
Q

Control of granulomas?

A
  • Trimming protocol and controlling other lameness causes
22
Q

What principles of managing lameness causes?

A
  1. Build resilience
  2. Establish challenge
  3. Reduce challenge
